JR Smith
JR Smith has called Tallahassee home since 2004, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for helping people achieve homeownership. He began his mortgage career in 1998 and has since built a reputation as a knowledgeable, customer focused professional.
Originally from the Midwest, JR grew up in Arkansas and later spent more than a decade out west in Las Vegas before settling in Florida. His diverse life experiences and long-standing industry expertise give him a unique perspective when guiding clients through the home loan process.
JR is fluent in FHA, Conventional, VA, and USDA lending guidelines and especially enjoys working with first time homebuyers. Helping individuals and families get into homes is what drives him every day.
Outside of work, JR has been happily married to his wife, Trish, for nearly 20 years. They share two children—a 27 year old daughter and a son who is soon turning 16. Family time is a top priority, whether they’re enjoying the outdoors, watching his son bowl, or gathering with friends.
JR also devotes his time to his community, volunteering as a coach for little league baseball, high school bowling, and the local Youth Bowling Association. When he’s not coaching, you’ll likely find him fishing or enjoying his love for Christmas lights.
